Nestled amid the picturesque slopes of Deer Valley, Stein Eriksen Lodge invites guests to experience a luxurious alpine escape. This elegant retreat combines world-class service with Norwegian-inspired charm, offering breathtaking mountain views and a serene ambiance. Whether seeking outdoor adventure or pure relaxation, guests will find a perfect balance of sophistication and comfort.
Stein Eriksen Lodge offers a quintessential luxury ski experience with impeccable service and stunning mountain views, but guests should be prepared for inconsistent room updates and additional fees for spa access.
Absolutely a piece of heaven. Every day I spent there was wonderful, and every person working there seemed to be genuinely caring about you and your experience. I highly recommend the spa too, Amanda was very insightful and helped with my neck/shoulder pain, I felt like a new person and wish I had done a 2hrs session. Truly one of a kind people, place and experience. 5 stars is simply not enough. :)
We have stayed at this hotel several times. The service is excellent. Our suite was beautiful with a Wolf stove and Sub Zero fridge. We had glass walls with a view of skiers on the slopes. We had two decks. We stayed in our beautiful suite a lot because the weather was terrible (meaning no snow in February, but nobody can control this…) We did ski and loved leaving our stuff in a locker near the slopes. There are several vans to give you rides and we used them every day. We never waited for more than five minutes. They provide tons of water and we got little surprises in our room every night. The amenities are high end and replaced. We had a steam shower and regular one. A sit down makeup area outside the bathroom. Two gas fireplaces. Love this lodge.
This is a particularly strong destination for families. Staff were consistently patient and attentive, especially with kids, without being intrusive. For a child having multiple firsts on the mountain, that kind of environment matters. The attention to quality carries through beyond the skiing as well. Food and beverage offerings reflect a level of care you don’t often see on-mountain, with thoughtfully curated selections rather than generic options. Ending the day with an excellent wine experience was an unexpected but fitting touch. A place that delivers a reliable, high-quality experience across the board. Would return without hesitation.
This is boomer luxury. Molton Brown soaps not flamingo estate if you know what I mean… plastic purified water (glorified Dasani) in the rooms not glass spring water… Sauna is available only to spa customers. They say you can buy a day pass for $100 to use the sauna if there’s room in the locker room but it was full my entire stay. I also couldn’t get a massage either. The shuttle is one sprinter van shared amongst the entire hotel. Good luck actually getting a ride. I waited 28 minutes and then they abandoned me in the 11 degree freeze. Nice… the room itself was pretty nice I’ll give them that. Another annoying thing is they don’t tell you til you check in but they charge you a 10% service fee PER DAY… the rooms are $900/night so that’s a lil crazy. Oh one more funny thing when I arrived they offered me the chance to upgrade my room for $200. I declined bc I’m not an idiot. An hour later I’m in the lobby I hear them tell another guest checking in that they were receiving a free room upgrade ? I figured they must be regulars… the bell man asks and they confirm it’s their first time staying there.
Went there for the spa, massage and amenities. Valet parking, such a feel good relaxing vibe, went out to the warm pool and hot tubs, amazing views, never got too busy, very relaxing. Massage was perfect. All around great and left relaxed and feeling good. Thank you so much.
I ordered one of their burgers and there was confetti or what looked like decorations under the fries. The fries were hard and inedible. The burger I asked for medium well and it was more pink and raw than anticipated. I did not enjoy the meal. I would not recommend.
Stein Eriksen Lodge offers an outstanding dining experience. The food quality is exceptional, prepared with premium ingredients and excellent attention to detail. Every dish is rich in flavor and beautifully presented. The staff are highly professional, friendly, and attentive, providing smooth and well-timed service throughout the meal. The atmosphere is elegant, warm, and very inviting, making it a perfect place for a refined and enjoyable dining experience. Highly recommended.
Stein Eriksen Lodge has an unbeatable mid-mountain location at Silver Lake Village. The ski valet is great and makes getting on and off the mountain easy. The bar and restaurant are consistently strong for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; that said, the restaurant would really benefit from adding some quality vegan options. While staying there, we usually took a midday break and came back to the hotel to play chess by the fireplace and enjoy a drink. The rooms are a bit outdated, but if you have a view, it’s truly spectacular and makes up for the older décor. The lodge is smaller and more intimate than the Montage or the St. Regis, and we prefer it that way—it feels quieter, warmer, and more personal. Overall, a great place to stay or simply to spend part of your ski day.
This is a classic luxury ski country lodge close to Deer Valley. I’ve stayed there several times in the fall, when the air is crisp and the leaves are turning. Beautiful setting with mountain walks or drives nearby. The lodges are impeccably clean and well-appointed in a western ski lodge style. My suites have included a kitchen, sitting area, desk, and a private balcony with a hot tub. The service was excellent, including free valet parking. The town is a short drive away and has nice shopping, art boutiques, and restaurants. Great place for casual but high end stay.
My first time staying Utah and this was where I got to stay. Of all the resorts I've been to in all my life, this was the absolute best. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left, every view, every interaction, every experience was of the highest levels of service, detail and attention. Should I even write more in this review? OK. I will. (see the subsection for my room details) I was staying here to attend an event. I believe this was the first time the host had held an event here and part of it may be because one of the SVPs was a native and had even worked at the lodge when he was young. The property sits in the front yard of the Deer Valley ski slopes and you can see very clearly that their prime season is in the winter with the backdrop of the hills turning to autumn and the dry ski slope pathways in full view. The landscape is beautiful and I was told that you have access to it all if you are a hiker to explore the hills. Let me tell you about the service. They cleaned and organized my room up to 3 times a day. I know that sounds like a lot but if I left for any duration, be in the days' activities, dinner, etc, when I came back, everything was returned to new order. Even if I threw my clothes on the floor, left the bathroom in a mess, anything. It was all handled and managed. They would pick up, redo my bed, replenish all the waters. They even took my power cabling and tied them back up and put a nice bow on it. Literally. The service was so polished even with staff on the grounds that when you ran into staff they were always so warm and polite. And not in the rehearsed way, but very genuine. I had left my glasses at the dinner table the evening before and when I woke in the morning to check out, there was someone waiting for me by the reception. Not behind the desk but where travelers enter the area. He greeted me, asked me how my night was and then asked if I had forgotten my glasses and once I confirmed it, he turned to the concierge who produced an envelope with my glasses inside. It was a small interaction but incredibly powerful. He then stepped out to get my ride which was available immediately. Even the individual who walked me to the room and explained the property and facilities was such an amazing professional. Impressed would be underselling my experience. Let me tell you about the property. It is beautiful. Wood and trees and wide open spaces. Never cramped. So much area and dedicated facilities for dining, events, conferences. Their spa is amazing, their masseuses are excellent. The settings, the rooms, the attention to detail is wonderful. Stone, wood, and glass everywhere and the air is filled with an intoxicating woodsy smell that is so strong and beautiful. Look at the pictures I posted. You'll get it. Stein Erikson Lodge. One of the best experiences of my life. What a great place to be in when you have to work because when you aren't working, it doesn't get much better. I do hope I have a reason to or the lodge finds a reason to have me back. I would go out of my way to do it again. Can I just abandon my current home and move there with my family permanently? In a heartbeat.
